iXledger is a groundbreaking alternative marketplace for insurance built on Blockchain technology. The peer-to-peer platform facilitates improved customer service, fuels new efficient business models, drives faster transactions and reduces risk through data access and collaboration.

The Challenge

Insurance is often traded manually through several layers of intermediaries. These inefficiencies drive most insurance institutions to look for more streamlined options based on innovative technology.

The challenge was to design and build a solution to fix those issues and to convince the market that the untested Blockchain solution was their new path to further success.

Solution

The project kicked off by discussing the requirements and technical constraints with the product team, followed by stakeholders interviews. I gathered and analysed the insights about the users, reviewed the existing processes and searched for fresh ideas on the market. We organised workshops where we were brainstorming and discussing different ideas.

I produced the first wireframes, iterated them according to the stakeholder’s feedback, then went ahead to create the first low-fidelity prototypes. I tested my assumptions with market experts and collected valuable feedback. I then moved on to iterating those designs to reach high fidelity designs. Went straight into development and then the product was released into the market in a phased approach. We received market feedback weekly and iterated accordingly.

The Result

The newly created insurance marketplace became a success. We proved that we could address market issues utilising blockchain technology which led iXledger to forge meaningful partnerships to expand the product further and to develop other companies products and services.
