Design Process
As an empathetic designer, my objective is to create beautiful products that let the users complete specific actions in the easiest way possible. Understanding the users and their needs is a crucial element in my design process. Specifying business requirements, constraints, and business goals are some of the most regarded aspects of all projects.
Discovery & Strategy
UX/UI is about finding the right solutions to specific problems. In the discovery stage, it's crucial to understand the users and the product. Setting up business goals, requirements and constraints. Sitemaps, workflows, and user personas. Before I crack on with the design phases, I analyse the marketing information about the users and conduct user interviews/surveys to find out their expectations, needs and preferences.
Low Fidelity Designs
At this stage, I start to structure the layout of the interfaces having in mind the users and their expectations. Usually, I begin with simple sketches, and then I discuss it with the stakeholders. Once my sketches are approved, I bring them to a wireframing tool adding more details. My low-fidelity wireframes are now ready to be reviewed and tested by the users.
Prototyping & User Testing
Now it's the time to make an interactive prototype and conduct user-testing to find out how our new solution works for the users. Basing on the user interaction with the prototype, I review the intrinsic details of their actions, whether they have been smooth or not. I always aim to get the users feedback and get to know their opinions about the product so I can add design improvements to the final product. Additionally, when I work with collective data, I try to understand what happened and why to make the necessary changes.
User Interface Design
Creating beautiful layouts is one of my favourite parts of the design process. I can be more creative here and have some fun, but still, it is to design with the users in mind. User Interface design should be a reflection of the User Experience. With this said, the right colours, fonts, spacing, buttons, icons, etc. help the users to complete specific actions easy and quick. I believe that a unique design can help in achieving business goals and reaching the company's target audience. Visitors spend 3 to 7 seconds average on a website when first arriving – and design is about quick choices based on emotions. My objective is to make visitors scroll down and to feel enticed to the product or service on offer.
